Fans of the cult cartoonist Peter Bagge, famed for Weirdo (which he once edited), Stop (to which he contributed), Neat Stuff and HATE (his own periodicals) will be overjoyed at several bits of news.
One: Freddy Pipes (UK) has won Bagge's own donated socks -- which, incidentally, plug the Seattle Sonics (basketball team). Each is autographed and bears a hand-drawn pic of his comic hero Buddy Bradley. (See winning quotes below.)
Two: HATE, Bagge's epic tale of Bradley, Leonard ("Stinky") Brown plus their friends, loves and punk compatriots is now being developed as a movie. Don't, however, expect any Tank Girl-style transformation. HATE will be supervised by Peter Bagge himself -- and its stars will be selected from the real rock scene. In the meantime, check out the comic auteur's exclusive interview.
She says: "Ooh, that Boddingtons don't 'arf make you feel windy!"
And: don't forget your socks.
Just remember: it's YOUR real time and YOUR real life.
